OUR WORK

The BeautifulStore Foundation is a social enterprise that seeks ecological and environment-friendly values through the reuse of goods under the mission of “making a beautiful world of sharing and circulation

joined by everyone.”

Since the launch of the 1st Charity shop in 2002, we have opened approximately 100 stores

around the nation.

In last year, we used about $28 million in profits generated by peoples' donations, volunteering, and purchases for our work
that makes the beautiful world
and we implemented projects to bring sustainable environmental and social changes home and abroad
with about $3 million in sales.

Resource
Recirculation

Charity Shop

We run Charity shops, which make the essence of The BeautifulStore Foundation. 'Sharing and circulation' is practiced at these stores daily. People donate things that they no longer need to Charity shops, which in turn sell them to those who need them. The sale proceeds of the stores are used to help people in need

at home and abroad.

Upcycling

We look for ways to utilize “things that are discarded” out of the circulation loop and also donated items. New concepts and designs are decided for such items to highlight the values of their raw materials. This process gives birth to new products. Consumers can think of a sustainable Earth and establish an eco-lifestyle by purchasing and using upcycled products.

Participatory
Culture

Volunteering

Approximately 18,000 volunteers participate in the activities of The BeautifulStore Foundation. They take advantage of their individual aptitudes and special abilities to participate

in the store’s activities, including supporting a campaign and education and checking upcycled products, and contributing to changes at the community, environment-friendly,

and ecological level

*What are volunteering activities?

When you voluntarily participate and help without expecting any rewards, it is a volunteering activity.  A volunteering activity offers participants a chance to grow into civic activists and change the community

as well as themselves.

Sharing education

Sharing education helps citizens have first-hand experiences with the values of sharing, circulation, and coexistence and contribute to a sustainable world. Sharing education covers the meanings of sharing, recycling, reuse, sustainable consumption, fair trade, and social enterprise so that young children, elementary school students, adolescents, and practitioners can find the goals and methods of sharing that are fit for them and practice them

in their lives.

Social contribution

Participants engage in sustainable activities with the community through resource recirculation, cash donations, and volunteering activities of the management and employees. The BeautifulStore Foundation carries out campaigns and sharing activities based on its 100 stores and Revival Centers around the nation to create

a world of sharing and circulation with corporations and organizations.
